Having finished reading today’s EV, I had long ago attributed the increase in volcanic and earthquake activity during reduced solar activity to diminished solar magnetic field protection allowing more cosmic rays to penetrate into the magma pools to excite them or some such. That just seems to make sense to us non-scientists.
What those rays or electrical currents might do to rocks and the hard crust, I can’t imagine. But for my part, one only has to know that these effects do happen.
That diminished Solar ENERGY allows the Earths magnetosphere to get smaller which affects the Crust in a dangerous way. The increased piezo and the ‘squeezing’ of the crest causses problems.
