Zeldin said he was “done with the likes of AOC, Al Gore, John Kerry, and the rest of the lying cabal” pushing failed climate scares while enriching their allies and choking whole sectors of the economy.
He called them “dishonest, power-hungry hacks.”
The wind patterns have definitely changed. I am continually seeing strong north/south wind patterns (meridional). The areas receiving winds from out of the south are warm. Here in the Pacific NW this is exactly what is happening with our unusual warm weather. The areas with winds from out of the north are cold. Eastern US, and for that matter eastern Europe, are receiving high level winds from out of the high arctic resulting in colder temps. When the Hunga Tonga effect fades away I expect the long term cooling pattern to reset back into place. One only has to extend the line forward from 2020 to 2023 time period, on the global temperature chart, to see where we are going.
My thoughts re the broad, cyclical earth temperature trend. I see a +/- century-long of general warming plateauing ~2015, then stationary for 5 years or so and perhaps beginning to turn negative when wham, the Hunga Tonga event interrupted the natural flow of events over a 5 year period, first pumping up the temps; now they slowly decline back toward where they should have been.
For Cap, Allen, Jay, et al. Try this as a thought path. Every day of my life, when the Sun passes appogee/noon, and in anyone’s locale, the local temperature starts to fall, or shortly thereafter. Why? Does CO2 start to race eastward to allow cooling and get in place to start the morning warming all over the planet? I don’t think so. CO2 has the square root of nothing (zero) to do in any climate discussion. Standing by for a CO2 pounce. So what does have any effect? The answer is Total Solar Irradiance (TSI). The round shining object in our local daytime sky governs our daily temperatures and indeed our livelihoods. Expand this thought path to the Solar Min/Max cycle and see the ups and downs related to TSI.
Now, for once and for all, will someone out there tell me why Prof. Valentina Zharkova and her Double Dynamo Solar Theory are wrong? Please show with associated empirical data, all the while championing the UN’s IPCC’s heating biased computer models, and its almost entire membership’s lockstep agreement of that position i.e. Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming (CAGW), which is so out of step with empirical data, which shows that we/us/the Earth’s entire population, are sleepwalking towards a repeat of the Maunder Minimum of roughly 400 years ago.
The Warmists always said that we must apply the Precautionary Principle, see:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Precautionary_principle,
This allowed them to devastate international energy development over the last 50+ years. Reapply that principle now, and we should be ” drill baby drilling” as fast as possible and building pipelines across Canada to supply fuel to prevent Canadians from freezing their asses off. Electricity ain’t gonna cut it! Hydro may well be frozen. Also, fossil fuel heat for greenhouses might be a cute thought, like tens or hundreds of thousands of them. Unfortunately, I think the time has almost been lost to mitigate the coming cold times. It should not be forgotten that during the Maunder Minimum,10% of of the one billion humans (100 million) at that time perished due to freezing or starvation. 10% of today’s 8 billion is a really big number, 800 million humans. That is equivalent to the population of the US and the EU. It may be a looming larger percentage. It won’t just be freezing or starving, but concomitant wars due to cataclismac migration towards the equatorial regions from both poles. Unless we do something, starting very soon, like right now, it is going to be bordering on an existential scale event, civilization wise. There will be survivors, but very little electricity, cell phones, or anything else recognizable. We can make a change in that vector.
We need to get off the right now, weather band, and get onto the climate band, and start to understand the difference in what a changing climate will mean to us, not only in Canada, but the whole planet.
I suggest hosting Prof. VK to the mother of all climate conferences, maybe in Whitehorse, Yukon, and inviting anyone to present their cases, with accompanying empirical data, not computer-modeled projections. Let us at least have a formal discussion about our changing climate, our future, and how radically it will very likely change in the next 5 years.
