As an aware adult, 50-plus years ago from then until now, the worst actors have been western media. They have consistently abdicated their responsibility to fairly and truthfully observe, investigate and report.
Most of what ails modern society they could have redressed by exposing the plots and the plotters with the power of front page headlines.
Information is everything. By willfully and in most cases knowingly aiding the powerful, year by year, in furthering their aims the media became less journalists and by now almost exclusively political apparatchiks – henchmen with a typewriter.
