Between 2020 and 2024, the Antarctic Ice Sheet gained ice at an average rate of 67.5 billion metric tons per year.
It seems to be shaping up to be a snowy winter in Alberta. We had some aurora this morning just before sunrise. Perhaps there is a little activity left in Old Sol.
Thanks for sharing the beautiful photo!
I live in North West England and we are having rainy weather now but we did have an unusually prolonged drought over the summer which I think was exceptional – but regions experiencing drought while other regions are having unusual patterns of very heavy rain are , I understand, part of the changing weather due to a Grand Solar Minimum.
I think we are seeing significant changes in our weather globally but that they are due to GSM.
I am concerned that sometimes you try to normalise these weather changes- not considering the influence of GSM.
My son says the PTB are causing the weather disturbances, for reasons of their own.
I was not aware Antarctica lost ice mass 2000 to 2020. Losing 100 Gt/year is not a lot compared to the ice mass of the entire continent, even 20 years worth.
But I figure the years of prevailing conditions of high snowpack and ice greatly outpace the lean or negative years over the last…how long? A million years? More…less?
Canada and the northern US had miles thick ice during the last Ice Age. It melted.
