Winter Sweeps The Carpathians
Winter has arrived in the Carpathians in September, spreading snow across the high ground of both Ukraine and Romania—and already forcing plows onto the roads.
On Ukraine’s Mount Pip Ivan, the season’s first snow arrived Sept 22 as temperatures dropped to -1C (30.2F). Two days later, the cold had deepened to -3C (26.6F), with rescuers warning that full winter conditions had taken hold across the summit.
Farther south, the Romanian Carpathians were hit harder still.
Heavy September snow buried sections of the famed Transfăgărășan Highway overnight into Sept 24, particularly around Bâlea Lac. Road crews deployed multiple snow-clearing vehicles and more than five metric tons of salt, warning motorists of “winter conditions.”

Winter has wasted little time.
Japan Freezes Early As Cold Record Falls
Japan has logged its first subfreezing reading of the season, 12 days earlier than last year and a week ahead of the average.
At Numakawa, northern Hokkaido, the temperature sank to -0.4C (31.3F) early Sept 25 — Japan’s first subfreezing reading of the season outside high mountain stations, 6.9C (12.4F) below normal and more typical of early November.
The cold was widespread, too.
Of Hokkaido’s 174 reporting stations, 164 came in below normal.
Nakatonbetsu, Utanobori and Shumarinai fell to 0.7C (33.3F), Nishi-Okoppe to 1.7C (35.1F), and Rikubetsu to 2C (35.6F).
At Teshio, the minimum reached 0.1C (32.2F) — 8.4C (15.1F) below normal. JMA data show the previous Sept 25 minimum record there was 1.2C (34.2F), set in 2002, meaning Friday’s low broke the daily record by 1.1C (2F).
Records at Teshio extend back to the late 1970s.
This year’s early freeze follows two winters that repeatedly rewrote Japan’s snow record books.
In February 2025, Obihiro was buried under 120 cm (47.2 in) in just 12 hours — more than double its previous all-time record of 57 cm (22.4 in). Its 24-hour total also set a record at 124 cm (48.8 in), with multiple Hokkaido stations setting new 12-, 24-, 48- and 72-hour snowfall records.
Last winter brought more: Takanosu reached an all-time snow depth of 160 cm (63 in), Kazuno 146 cm (57.5 in), while Sapporo set a new all-time 48-hour snowfall record of 65 cm (25.6 in).
The World Still Runs On Fossil Fuels
The global energy picture looks very different from the painted narrative: oil, coal and natural gas still supply more than four-fifths of everything.
The IEA’s latest complete World Energy Balances, updated in July 2026 with global data through 2024, puts fossil fuels at 80.5% of global primary energy supply.
Oil accounts for 30%, coal 27.6% and natural gas 22.9%.
Renewables supply 14.5%. But the majority of that is not wind turbines and solar panels. It is biomass.
Solid biomass alone accounts for 7.2% of total global energy. Add liquid biofuels, biogas and renewable waste at another 1.2%, and bioenergy-related sources reach roughly 8.4% — comfortably more than half of the renewable total.
Hydro contributes another 2.5%, geothermal and marine 0.7%.
Solar: 1.5%.
Wind: 1.4%.
Combined, wind and solar provide just 2.9% of global primary energy.
This is not merely electricity generation, where wind and solar have grown far larger. It is the entire energy system — transport, heating, industry and power. The IEA database covers global energy balances across 68 products and 98 flows.
The global energy system is still, overwhelmingly, oil, coal and gas. And even within the renewable slice, the dominant source remains old-fashioned biomass — not wind and solar.
Earth’s Magnetic Field Is Weakening Faster
Earth’s magnetic field has been weakening for centuries—but that decline has accelerated sharply in recent years. Now a 2026 study finds rapid changes—originating deep within the planet—are occurring fast enough to wrong-foot the latest international magnetic-field model.
ESA estimates that Earth’s magnetic field has lost around 9% of its strength globally over the past 200 years.
The decline is not uniform.
Its most obvious weak spot is the South Atlantic Anomaly (SAA), a sprawling region between South America and Africa where the field is substantially weaker than elsewhere.
Between 1970 and 2020, minimum field strength there fell from roughly 24,000 to 22,000 nanoteslas.
More recently, the weakening has intensified.
ESA’s latest Swarm satellite analysis found that the area covered by the SAA continued expanding between 2014 and 2025, with a region southwest of Africa beginning to weaken even faster after 2020.
Lead researcher Chris Finlay said something in that region is causing the field to weaken “in a more intense way.”
And now scientists are seeing rapid changes deeper down.
A 2026 paper by Chulliat, Nair and Califf identified a pronounced secular-acceleration pulse centered on 2022, followed by a geomagnetic jerk in 2024 across Western Europe and North America.
Earth’s magnetic field is generated largely by moving liquid iron in the outer core. It is always changing. A secular-acceleration pulse means the rate of that change suddenly speeds up or shifts, while a geomagnetic “jerk” is an abrupt change in its trend.
The researchers traced the 2022 pulse to rapidly changing magnetic patterns near the core-mantle boundary, some 2,900 km (1,800 miles) beneath the surface.
Then came the 2024 jerk.
Magnetic observatories in Britain, France, Canada and the U.S. recorded sharp changes, with similar signals seen elsewhere across Europe and North America.

The changes were fast enough to catch the models out.
IGRF-14—the latest International Geomagnetic Reference Field—was designed in 2024 to forecast how Earth’s field would evolve through 2030. Yet less than a year later, real-world observations were already diverging from its predictions in all three magnetic components, particularly Y and Z.
The researchers blame nonlinear changes in Earth’s core that the model did not anticipate.
The picture is therefore becoming a little clearer.
Earth’s magnetic shield is weakening. Its largest weak spot is expanding. Parts of that weak spot have been weakening faster since 2020. And, beneath it all, the core-generated field is undergoing abrupt changes quickly enough to outpace our newest forecasts.
None of this proves that a magnetic reversal or even excursion is imminent.
But the field is demonstrably waning.
Thank you for your continued support.
Enjoy your weekend.
I’ll be back Monday, as always.
Best,
Cap

The latest Greenland SMB chart has not been updated since September 8th 2026. This chart has displayed a large decrease in melting over the past summer. It started the recent building season on a high note. This data goes against the warming narrative.
The Northern Hemisphere snow mass plot was realigned recently to show less snowfall. Is that what we can expect for the Greenland plot when it finally comes back online?
May I please expand on Patrick’s comment. The basic pillar of salt that the CAGW has built its climate house of cards on, is that Carbon Dioxide is causing global warming and indeed they claim that there actually is global warming happening along with rising sea levels, melting poles, increased wild fires, tornados, hurricanes, and raging heat events. All this while ignoring the global satellite temperature (empirical) sensing going on since 1979 showing very little warming, not above a rounding error. What we all need to do is speak back at these Climidiots (my new word here) and tell them “No! CO2 does not cause atmospheric warming in any practical measure”. Now water vapor is a real villain. How about a Water Vapor tax? Also simply check the charts offered by The Electroverse which refute any and all of the CAGW lunatic’s offerings. Canada’s shiny newish prime minister, Mark Carney is one of these people. Canada’s newest pipeline Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)stipulates that any and all emissions must be zero and that CO2 will be captured, and stored underground near Cold Lake Alberta at a estimated cost of 28.4 Billion CDN $. Good luck with t at exercise. I think the MOU will become a MOM, memorandum of misunderstanding very quuickly.
I propose that the newest member of what appears to be of the leopard genus, as it has noticeable spots, be called the Carny Kitty. As leopards are known for not changing their spots, I also believe PM Mark Carney will not and cannot change his CAGW charter membership spots. He was/is a UN shill and ultimately stands to benefit wildly if the CAGW Climate cause is ever realized; i.e,. World Government of and by the United Nations, all unelected people. What could possibly go wrong with any of that?
I believe that Prof. Valentina Zharkova’s Double Dynamo theory, which seems to me to be continually validated by breaking cold temp records. I realize that weather events are not to be confused with climate, but there certainly seems to be cooling trend going with our Earth. I believe these events will accelerate as we approach the Solar Minimum in 2030.
Anybody agree with me in the Electroverse? We need to start speaking up!
Billy Best – in the Vancouver BC area.
What have you been doing the last 20 years besides speaking up? Has it done any good at all? I gave up speaking up a long time ago, seriously I mean. I still make the occasional snarky remark, but as for trying to convince anyone…fagediboutit! Nobody listened to me about the vax, and no one listens about the GSM. In the latter case, I don’t even listen to myself anymore. Still waiting for that cool summer.
You will go bald if you carry on like that. Settle.
I would probably have to stroll through Fukushima to go bald. Hair I’ve got. Don’t tell me you agree with Billy. Maybe you could give me some pointers on effective public speaking. 😄
Let the young ones take up the battle. Enjoy your sunrises and sunsets.
Contributory opportunities always present themselves.
I an not comforted by the prospect of ‘the young ones taking up the battle.’ They are, by and large, ill-educated and believe all manner of nonsense they read on Tik-tok, Snapchat, Google, etc, or what their bestie thinks.
I take your point Jay. At eighty years old I would suggest Deb focus mostly on her own welfare.
At 82 years old people like Colonel Larry Wilkerson, ex chief of staff of the State Department. had experience and networks through which to inform.
We have people like Joe Kent who resigned from his counter terrorism role and continues to go public.
I should have said younger ones rather than young ones.
Best wishes.
Yes Moffin, younger ones, younger than oldsters, sure. And not to say that there aren’t plenty of intelligent, achieving young people. Smarter than me.
My overly-broad grouping referred to those I see on TV and read about, believing all sorts of nonsense – and believing it loudly and rudely.
The latest lefty ploy is to say the diplomas awarded to homeschooled students do not satisfy a job requirement of having “an accredited high school diploma.” spit …When from what I read, the homeschoolers score well when compared to the bulk of traditional students.
Don’t rush me I’m only 78!
I’m 75 but think I am gaining on ya.
Deb & I can do both at the same time Young Man.
Hi Deb keep talking we love hearing from YOU!
Maybe some of you do…
This interview of Tucker Carlson with Max Blumenthal gives a perspective.
The climate and pharmaceutical narratives are controlled by the same beasts. Many honorable people verify this, such as Colonel Larry Wilkerson and Colonel Douglas Macgregor.
Individuals make errors but these can be averaged out by looking at a number of corroborations. You know this already.

Clearly Jews are just like every other people group on this planet, ie: there are good ones and there are bad ones.
I already know that evil is growing in this world and will culminate in the reign of the antichrist. I have no interest in documenting each hellish ratchet down. I prefer to go back to enjoying my sunrises and sunsets as much as possible until Jesus Christ returns to set things straight. 🙏
Learn the difference between Zionists and Jews
I did not refer to Jews.
Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self determination in their historical homeland i.e. Israel. Any claims about a global Zionist conspiracy that controls politicians, the media, big business etc is nothing more than an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory and is exactly what the Nazis claimed.
If you do not know about AIPAC then shut the far cup you idiot.
Clearly you support genocide. Do the honourable thing, I will send you the rope for free.
You must know about the greater Israel agenda. Netanyahu shows the maps in front of the world. To control mid Eastern oil. Venezuela. Iran was prepared. Russia was prepared.
Sykes Picot? What are you doing on this site. Todays anti Zionism is not antisemitism, you filthy troll.
Do not accuse me of racism, far quit.
Cool if I get banned from this site.
Moffin- I know the people you are talking about. The people who are behind covid/the vax, the switch to inadequate green energy, the rise of AI/robotics/surveillance/, the worldwide drop in birth rates. If name calling is your thing, I will give you a name to call them, more accurate than the tag of Zionists. They may call themselves Christians or Jews or Americans or anything else that hides what they really are. But one and all, they are Satanists. Everything they do is for the purpose of bringing about a one world government, so that satan can achieve his millenias long purpose of ruling the world. And he’s going to do it — for a little while. The Bible tells me so.
This seems to be a false dichotomy. Just because a particular Jew believes they have a God-given right to live in Israel does not mean they are guilty of atrocities. It’s just not as simple as that. If you want to divide people into two camps, I’ll make it easy for you. It applies to Jews and Gentiles alike.
There are those who love God and those who reject God. Any attempt to complicate, contradict or confuse this simple fact comes from the one who hates God.
“Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve… But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15
Many Zionists are Christians, not Jews. Mike Johnson, speaker of the house, is one such animal. A believer in ‘The Rapture’ apparantly.
When I was around 12 years old I said to God, “people usually only talk to you when they want something. If you, God, ever feel used and abused and lonely and need a friend you are welcome to talk to me”.
God never got back to me.
To suggest that anyone who is not infused the same way you are with religion, hates God, is both dishonest and creates evil.
Do not put words in my mouth Deb.
You can do better.
Yes, I can do better, so I have to ask myself why I am still here talking to you.
I remembered why.
https://youtu.be/RQ1jkLgjFq4?si=ftcxBhDDwk2DfiPR
I would very much appreciate your opinion of this video. Seriously.
God doesn’t need you, Moffin. You need Him. I doubt He will talk to you until you figure that out.
Deb always SPEAK.
It has more power than YOU can imagine.
The MORE Voices that speak the more people will listen.
I have often been accused of speaking too much. But that usually doesn’t stop me, lol. 😀
Weather forecasts, climate changes, models, polls, current events, etc: One of my baseline criterion is “Will it affect the cost of a six-pack?”
Jay- Good choice! I might also ask, will it affect the cost of my cat chow? And what about toilet paper? Gotta keep our priorities straight. 😄
Hi Cap. Best wishes with your work and thank you.
Kind regards.
Matt Holl.
Well, at least we finally got some kind of conversation, comment, thread going. Too bad it went off the rails in record time. Perhaps Cap, The (Your) Electroverse needs an equivalent to a corporate mission statement stating what you had and have intended by creating the Electroverse Climate newsletter way back when. I think I recall that that is why you moved to Portugal in the first place.
I don’t believe anyone really cares a big fat rat’s ass about other people’s religious beliefs or non beliefs. Be happy with your god and leave me to mine. I have worshipped in the Church of the Single Seat jet fighter. In one of them it could often be heard be me uttering very loudly, “Jesus Christ, just get me out of this and I promise…”.
Those who think they are really in charge of running the world make a fatal error in not having figured out how to control the Earth’s climate. (Big Hint; Earth’s climate is totally out of humanity’s control and only very partially influenced by us, regardless of what the United Nations and the IPCC bleat on about!). When the Total Solar Irradiance (TSI)’s measurable energy (watts per square meter) starts to wane in earnest towards to the low point of that which was available 400+ years ago during the last Grand Solar Minimum, probably obvious to most of us in another 3 to 4 years from right now, it will be too late to do much other than think about heading southwards. I don’t think anyone can carry enough ammunition, let alone food and water to survive that journey. Who would want us? There will be many heading north at the same time from Africa and South America.
Regarding speaking up Deb, we are getting the governments we have now by not speaking up earlier and oftener. At least the Dutch farmers are pissed off enough to show their position by parking tractors where they caused much discussion about fuel costs and stupid government policies. Stupid government policies have wasted about 17 trillion dollars now.
We have a briefly feasible amount of time left to at least start planning for probable food production failure, fuel distribution failure, medical system massive overloading, and many other bad things caused by never ending winter conditions. Snow removal will take on biblical proportions. I’m 84, last May, so while I hope to see if Prof. Zharkova’s theory pans out, I don’t think I’ll have to put up with much of the downside of it.
Anyone out there remotely interested in discussing this subject?
For Deb, I was CF-104 Starfighter jet pilot in the RCAF in the latter half of the 60’s (doing the NATO nuclear deterrent thing) followed by 30 years of boring holes in the stratosphere for CP-Air, a major Canadian airline. Local destination weather and seasonal climates were of utmost interest to me. Flight instrumentation was something we pilots could speak up about through our union, ALPA, and I finally wrote to the former CEO of Air Canada stating that I thought they, flight operations personnel, were making a gross safety error by not including the Head Up Display in their newly ordered A-220-300 jet airliners. About two weeks later I got a registered letter from the CEO thanking me for my input and that he was making me know, as the first person outside of flight operations, that Air Canada had decided to order the head up displays. I had been retired for nearly 20 years by then so I put this as evidence that speaking up is not always futile. Go ahead and speak up Deb, but maybe keep it related to the Electroverse’s intended use, or not, as I enjoy your inputs anyway.
Sorry to be so wordy but I can’t say it with less of them.
Billy Best
Well, Billy, I’ve been following this GSM thing for a little over 20 years, 15 with Robert Felix and about 6 here with Cap Allon. During that time, just about everything has been said about the GSM, the global warming scam and so on that can be said, and it’s all been said many times over. From time to time I wonder why I still come here. I usually don’t have much tolerance for repeated information. For instance, even though I read my Bible most days and I believe it and love it, I refuse to go to church anymore on Christmas or Easter because I just can’t stand to hear the same sermons over and over.
So what am I still doing here? It’s the people, on one hand. I’ve run across some very interesting people here, scientists and engineers, renegades and rogues, articulate people who do their own thinking and resist those who try to do it for them. Of course we’re going to butt heads occasionally, but that’s okay. But, mainly, I’ve realized, it’s because I’m allowed to be myself. First Robert Felix and now Cap let me get away with an awful lot of crap. Because of that, I have not had to restrain myself, repress this or that facet, wear a mask. Most of my life I have had to do that. When I was growing up, smart girls were not popular. I tried to pretend to be stupid, but I wasn’t very good at it, lol. And since I turned my back on the academic life, the people I’ve spent my life with have been mostly poorly educated. I have learned to watch how I talk and what I talk about, lest anyone think I was arrogant or showing off. It’s been sort of like going to live in a foreign land.
Well, you get the idea. I like this place because I can be myself, whatever strange mood comes over me. I don’t have to toe any party line, I don’t have to talk down to anyone, and the company is usually excellent. So thank you everyone for being you, and especially thanks to Cap. Electroverse amounts to my corner pub, where everyone knows my name. 😘😘😘
None of this proves that a magnetic reversal or even excursion is imminent.
Really Cap?
They missed the rest so nothing is ABSOLUTE!
